RNG
Energy attribute certificate representing one unit (typically 1 MMBtu or 1 MWh equivalent) of renewable natural gas (biomethane) injected into the gas grid or physically delivered. Biomethane is produced via anaerobic digestion of organic waste, agricultural residues, wastewater sludge, or landfill gas and upgraded to pipeline-quality specification. Used in heating, power generation, and as a vehicle fuel substitute.
