Copper Mining
Extraction and beneficiation of copper ore: crushing, grinding and froth flotation to produce copper concentrate from sulphide ore, and the leaching plus solvent-extraction/electrowinning route for oxide ore. The principal upstream sector in the copper value chain and, because ore grades are low and falling, the largest single contributor to refined copper’s footprint.
