Petroleum Coke
Solid carbon residue from the coking of heavy refinery bottoms. Sold in two grades with opposite accounting treatments: fuel-grade petcoke is burned in cement kilns and boilers, while calcined petcoke is the carbon in aluminium smelting anodes, where it acts as a reductant and leaves as process CO2. Filed as hasCombustedFuelInput or hasMaterialInput accordingly, on the consuming product.
