has material sector

FND › DecarbNexus Foundations Ontology

Links a product to the economic sectors whose emissions are material to that product’s cradle-to-gate footprint. Hand-curated: an expert judgement about materiality, never derived from the input graph. This is the traversal path the instrument screener uses to widen a product filter to sector- and source-level instrument tags.

Example

Property	Value
scopeNote	Do not double-count. If a sector’s purchased energy is already captured as one of its material emission sources (dno-emi:hasEmissionSource), do not also list the supplying sector here. Grid electricity consumed by a steel mill belongs to SteelManufacturing’s Scope 2, so ElectricPower is not a material sector of Steel.
