Carbon Credit Types

Market instruments representing the reduction or destruction of superollutants — primarily methane (CH₄), nitrous oxide (N₂O), and fluorinated gases (HFCs, PFCs, SF₆). These gases have global-warming potentials far exceeding CO₂ on a 20-year horizon, giving superpollutant credits disproportionate near-term climate value.
